FADED TIME
By: Judy A. Andres
I knew that time would fade away
Your memory from their minds.
I knew that they'd eventually
Pick up what they'd left behind.
I knew that as this happened
I would feel you'd been betrayed.
And yet, I knew t'would not be fair
If deep in grief they stayed.
I knew their visits to your grave
Would wane, and soon grow few.
I knew that was how it would be,
And how you'd want them to.
But as I see it happen,
I find I'm saddened, too.
For all those things to me were signs
They've not forgotten you.
And yet I know down deep inside
All of your friends who cared,
Have in no way forgotten you ~
Nor all the time you sharded.
